Long before light rises, scores of small fishing boats flee the Snohomish River carrying hopeful and gear-laden occupants out to open waters. Here, in the photo at 7am, one leaves late, one returns early. Me thinks the salmon we ate last night at Anthony’s might have cost less than the cost of a catch. But. . . Maybe not nearly as fun.
