PINEAWEIGH - DAY TWENTY, leaving Kingston

It may be a minute by minute or hour by hour missive today.

9:20am

“Let’s see if we can get out of here by 9:30 and we’ll be able to wave to Gordy as the Puyallup (ferry) pulls out.” Gordy is working Quartermaster and is preparing for the run to Edmonds.

”Ah, come on, Dave,” say I (who resists being hurried or, honestly, resists such fun ideas). But, okay. If we’re ready. “Just remember the rule about keeping our distance from the ferry.”

The idea works perfectly. From the offshore pilothouse, Gordy and his Captain, Cindi, stand out and wave us off. The picture attached here is from them. I don’t know why it is dark.  It’s Dave’s leg to Winslow so I’m the one on the bow securing lines and fenders.

Total fun! Thank goodness for Dave’s spirit of adventure.
