#8 Pissarro's landscapes -- Ha, ha, ha

Sometimes, the best of us are caught offguard by opinions expressed by others but we wish we were able to express things so succinctly. Like this opinion I read posted in a San Francisco art exhibit along side a landscape done by Camille Pissarro in 1876.

"Seen up close (Pissarro's landscapes) are incomprehensible and hideous; seen from a distance they are hideous and incomprehensible."

I don't know if the critic was right but I do know his opinion made me laugh out loud.
